Remove the location from a photo
before you sell.

Phones save the exact spot a photo was taken. Post a listing photo taken at home and anyone can download it and see your address. FlamingMeta cleans it in your browser before you post.

How it works

  1. 1

    Open Clean

“Clean before posting” is already picked. It's made for Marketplace, Gumtree and eBay listings.

  2. 2

    Drop your photos

JPEG, PNG and WebP are cleaned right in your browser. The file never leaves your device.

  3. 3

    Download and post

GPS, camera serial numbers and owner names are gone. Rotation stays, so the photo looks the same.

What a listing photo can give away

  • GPS coordinates: often accurate to a few metres, so a photo taken at home shows your address.
  • Camera and phone serial numbers, which can tie photos from different listings back to you.
  • Owner and artist names that some cameras and apps write into every photo.
  • The date and time, and sometimes a hidden uncropped preview of the original shot.

What “Clean before posting” keeps

  • The orientation, so the photo isn't sideways.
  • The colour profile, so colours look right.
  • Camera settings and the date, if you want them. Pick “Remove everything” to drop those too.

Questions

Don't Facebook and Gumtree remove location already?

Some sites strip it from the copy they show, but not all do, and not always. The original you send is still uploaded. Cleaning it first means the location never leaves your phone.

Is it free?

Yes. Checking and cleaning single photos in your browser is free.

Do you keep my photos?

No. JPEG, PNG and WebP never leave your device. HEIC, TIFF and video are cleaned on our server in Australia; the upload is deleted once it's cleaned, and the clean copy once you download it (or after an hour).
